After keeping calm during the last two tense months, the wish of Kylian Mbappé has not come true and the French forward will continue to play for PSG. At least until the end of his contract in June 2022.
Tuesday 31 August was the last day Real Madrid and PSG had to reach an agreement on the transfer of the player to the Spanish club. But in the end, it all came to nothing.
Qatar did not accept the last proposal of 200 million euros that Real Madrid offered to sign the player one year before the end of his current contract.
The French player was confident until the last moment that PSG would keep their promise to agree to a deal with Real Madrid.
That was the wish of Mbappé, who rejected all PSG’s renewal offers, sending a clear message to the club’s board, which ignored the player’s wishes.
Mbappé’s dream was to play for Real Madrid this summer. But PSG has not accepted any of the offers from the Spanish club. So in the end, Real Madrid has closed its market without him.

Therefore, Kylian Mbappé remains a PSG player with a season ahead and full of challenges, despite his disappointment with the club in the way it has all been handled.
The 22 years old French forward will continue to play good football and give his best to his club, as he has always done.
A new opportunity in short
Real Madrid has shown they have done everything in their power to sign Kylian Mbappé. Unfortunately, the club has met resistance from Qatar, who have closed the door on any deal.
However, not everything is lost for Mbappé, as from 1 January 2022 he will be able to commit himself to the white club.
So in four months’ time, the door will open again and both Mbappé and Real Madrid hope to be able to announce his signing by 1 July 2022.
For the time being, he will continue to defend the Parisian blue shirt together with Messi, Neymar, and the rest of the team, before he can do it with the white one.
