The Liga MX Guard1anes 2021 Tournament is now on its third matchday, and the teams have already begun to place themselves at the table. Also called the Super Clásico or el Clásico de Clásicos, it is the most eagerly awaited match of the whole season, which pits the two most traditional teams against each other. They are the clubs with the greatest number of fans and the ones with the most titles in history: America with 13 and Chivas de Guadalajara with 12.
CLÁSICO JOVEN: AMÉRICA vs CRUZ AZUL
When: Saturday 17th April 2021
Where: Estadio Azteca
Is the derby between the two most successful clubs of the Mexican capital, both sharing the same stadium. This is one of the most important rivalries in the Mexican League, which dates back to the 1970s. At that time a powerful Cruz Azul, nicknamed La Máquina, was conquering Mexican football.
CLÁSICO REGIO: TIGRES vs MONTERREY
When: Saturday 24th April 2021
Where: Estadio Universitario
This is the derby in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, between these two teams. This rivalry was born in 1960 when both teams were in the Second Division. It was in the 1959-1960 season when the Rayados de Monterrey beat the Tigres 2-0, promoting to the First Division.

One of the strongest rivalries between Mexico’s most popular teams is shared by America and Pumas. Their first meeting was in 1962 when America hosted the Pumas, who had just been promoted to the First Division the previous season.
The rivalry grew over the years and reached its peak in the 80s when the teams had to play three finals against each other.
CLÁSICO DEL CENTRO: QUERÉTARO vs ATLÉTICO SAN LUIS
When: Sunday 14th March 2021
Where: Estadio La Corregidora
It is called el Clásico del Centro due to the geographical area of the Mexican Republic that it covers. It is also called el Clásico de la 57 in allusion to the federal highway that connects both points and crosses the Alfonso Lastras and La Corregidora stadiums.
Their rivalry dates back to the end of the 50s, in the 1957-58 season of the Second Division. After the disappearance of Club San Luis in 2013, Atlético San Luis inherited this rivalry.
After the season’s games, the Liguilla begins. The MX League play-offs will take place between 8th and 9th May. The quarter-finals will start on May 12th and will end on May 16th.
The semi-final will be played between 19 and 23, and the final of the Liga MX Guard1anes 2021 Tournament will be played on 27 and 30 May 2021.
