Slovenian Luca Doncic has already surpassed the legendary Michael Jordan by scoring his 29th triple-double. He goes up to 15th, ahead of Jordan in the all-time triple-double list, adding another record to his fledgling, young career.
Bulls vs Mavericks
It was in the NBA game against the Chicago Bulls on 17 January, where the Bulls overcame the Slovenian’s historic triple-double, to beat the Dallas Mavericks 117-101. With this victory, the Bulls snapped a four-game losing streak.
The most surprising thing about the game was that Doncic scored 30 points only in the first half!. A spectacular performance, which was overshadowed by the Mavericks’ defeat.
The team hopes to bounce back soon with the return of Kristaps Porzingis, who has been absent from the start of this season due to an injury suffered in the playoffs last season.
The star Doncic finished with a total of 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 15 assists. He made a total of six three-pointers (18 points), recording his 29th career triple-double, surpassing all-star Michael Jordan.
Between All-Time Greats
Besides Jordan, he has already passed the likes of Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Elgin Baylor on the all-time triple-double list. He’s currently tied with Grant Hill at 15th place with 29.
The Slovenian became the fourth player in NBA history to record at least 35 points, 15 rebounds, and 15 assists in a game. In addition, the youngest to do so. He joins Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain, and James Harden in accomplishing this infrequent achievement. Robertson has succeeded five times in his career.
He might be still far from Oscar Robertson’s 181 triple-doubles, Russell Westbrook’s 150, Magic Johnson’s 138, Jason Kidd’s 107, and LeBron James’ 95. However, he is already showing all his talent on both sides of the court.

Doncic NBA Career
Since his arrival in the NBA in 2018, Luka has surprised everyone with his young basketball career in the US. But he even did it before that, when he was playing in Europe with Real Madrid, being the youngest player playing for the white team, with 16 years.
Among his many feats, he is to date the only player in NBA history to have two triple-doubles under the age of 20. Doncic is also the youngest player to have a 30-point triple-double, having achieved it at the age of 19. He is also the only player so far to have a 35-minute triple-double in a period of 25 minutes or less.
Although he is only 21 years old, Luka Doncic is currently one of the NBA’s biggest stars. His records and brilliant performances set the tone for what looks to be a successful future career on par with the NBA’s all-time greats.
Only time will tell how far Doncic will go in the NBA.
